DOGAMÍ Community Update #4

Happy Gamma Year Dogamers! 🎇 Before we dig into last month’s happenings, the whole DOGAMÍ team would like to wish you a happy and healthy 2023! 🐶

The team has plenty of exciting things planned for this year so, aside from standard gym memberships signups, (paws up 🐾 if you’ve decided to be healthier in January… 😏), why not start the year by following us on social media, joining our discord, etc to make sure you don’t miss out on anything! December in a bite-size chunk… DOGAMÍ successfully completed its $14M seed round with a $7M seed extension to expand its range of Web3 games and applications. $DOGA was also listed on 2 more exchanges totalling 4 centralised exchange listings in 2022.

Things got a little colder in the Doga House last month with a Winter Wonderland makeover rolled out mid-month. Did you spot Santa Claus?

The team also announced Marc Mendonça, our new superstar CTPO. He replaces Bilal who remains a faithful advisor to the team. 🤝

Dogamers have also enjoyed weekly airdrops based on their in-game activity in the DOGA House app. If you want to check yours, keep reading to find out how to use TZKT.io, a Tezos Blockchain explorer (airdrops often do not appear in some browser wallets).

We were also delighted to present the new DOGA Council! 22 Members from the community were elected and have started their first 6-month mandate. We’ll be giving an overview of the Council’s composition as well as covering the DOGA Talk which we held just before Christmas in lieu of the regular AMAs.

$14M Seed Round Completed

On 13th December, we were very proud to announce the completion of a $14M seed round (with a $7M seed extension) led by European tech-investor XAnge and a French public investment Bank BPI. This is a fantastic signal for a Web3 company given the current market climate and will enable us to weather the storm for the next coming months.

These new funds will be used to further develop and improve our product offerings:

A new game — the concept of which we will present this year
Marketplace improvements (UX improvements and features such as breeding
Onboarding (the focus being on developing new onboarding processes and facilitating the creation of wallets to make it easier for web2 audiences to enjoy our NFTs and Web3 tools)
Partnerships (both physical and digital)
Creation and launch of a DOGAMÍ comic book

Exchange Listings Ahoy! 💱

$DOGA has now been listed on a total of 3 CEXs (centralised exchanges)! Bittrex and Bitmart were added to the mix over the past couple of months alongside Gate.io. All three exchanges enable users to acquire $DOGA via the USDT/DOGA trading pair.

If you do purchase $DOGA, please be aware that each platform will have its own KYC processes for the purchase and withdrawal of tokens. We recommend all Dogamers read the terms and conditions before trading.

Let It Snow! ☃️

The DOGA House app had a Christmas-focused make-over during the festive period. Players pet, cleaned, and fed their Dogamí in a Winter wonderland game update.

Things have gotten a little colder in the Doga House! 🥶

With the crunch of snow under their paws, Dogamí were able to explore a new winter environment adorned with snowmen, decorations, and presents! 🎁

On a side note, all holders of Series 1 and 2 NFTs can now use the Doga House app. To date, more than 4400 Dogamí NFTs were in play earning dogamers their precious $DOGA airdrops. As mentioned in the introduction, these airdrops do not always appear in wallets (for example Temple wallet).

Simply copy and paste your Tezos wallet address into the search bar (please note this address was selected at random) go to the “balances” section, click “DOGAMÍ (DOGA)” and you will see a list of transactions on the right-hand side.

You can see some transactions related to airdrops from 3rd January, 27th and 20th December etc.

New CTPO 🎉

We were delighted to onboard Marc Mendonça, our new CTPO (Chief Technology and Product Officer)!

Marc has a huge background having previously worked at Backmarket, a leading online marketplace dedicated to refurbished devices, and at Japhy, an online store offering customized pet food. Marc is excited about helping us transform our marketplace and adapt it for a mainstream audience.

He will be replacing Bilal who is still with DOGAMÍ as an advisor. The whole team would once again like to extend a warm welcome to Marc!

DOGA Council 🏢

Dogamers had recently expressed their wishes to have a more democratic and inclusive way of listening to, and entertaining the community. With this in mind, we decided to build the Doga Council!

The DOGA Council, composed of DOGAMÍ opinion leaders, represent the community and were voted in by the community. The role of the council is to:

🗣️ Discuss community feedback
🗣️ Talk about proactive ideas to entertain Dogamers (Ex: DOGA day operations 🤝)
🗣️ Vote, approve, or decline our ideas & propositions
🗣️ Scale up or down DOGAMÍ initiatives

We had about 90 applications in total and the final 22 councillors were chosen by the community! We are delighted to have these very engaged members who care greatly about the project. Welcome aboard!

The DOGA Council has the following composition:

5 whales
5 guild leaders
3 $DOGA whales
2 diamond holders
2 gold holders
2 silver holders
2 bronze holders
️1 mod

Mandates are for 6 months. At the end of this term, new council members will be voted in. We have already been discussing a few subjects with the councillors and they have already participated in 2 votes — the design of a council ring — an “SBT” to mark each councillors’ term (read more about what an SBT is here) and the winners of a recent Christmas contest.

DOGA Talk 🎙

We held a short DOGA Talk just before Christmas to give an overview of the most important topics on the table. This was in lieu of the monthly AMA sessions the team normally holds. The 40 minute talk was held by Max and Kris and moderated by Andy.
